The Achievements Preschool Program is an OCFS approved five hour program running from 8-1 and 9-2 with limited before and after care available as necessary, providing for a quality preschool experience that leads to school success.  Our classes are small and our staff is highly qualified.  A licensed teacher leads each classroom. Our Center is inclusive of all children and provides classes for preschoolers with disabilities together with typically developing children. Achievements is also an Approved Special Education Provider (ASEP) through the New York State Education Department. Thus, our preschool classes are designed to enhance every preschooler’s development with additional experiences with on-site Speech Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Occupational Therapists.

The Curriculum

Achievements has selected a preschool curriculum that is carefully planned, challenging, engaging, developmentally appropriate, culturally and linguistically responsive, comprehensive and likely to promote positive outcomes for all children. Our curriculum combines many known preschool curriculums to create a comprehensive curriculum that addresses all content areas of the early learning standards, including literacy, math, science, social studies, and the arts and technology.  The curriculum guides the classroom teachers in designing a preschool program that provides children with the foundation skills they need to support their cognitive, language, social and physical development.

Achievements provides quarterly report cards which allow families a chance to monitor their child's progress. Parents are encouraged to be active participants in their child’s program through phone conversations, conferences, written communication, and periodic visits.
